Today is my mother’s birthday.
She would have been 91 years old today.
I don’t often speak or write about my mother as we had a tumultuous relationship.
My mother was not a maternal mother. She struggled with mental health and addiction all her life.
What I learned from my mother was that my dreams were real. I knew that I could and would become the mother that I longed for in my life.
I had this dream from 8 years old. Visualization is what it’s referred to today, but back in the early 70’s it was a dream held tight in my heart.
Our parents are our first teacher. They instill leadership principles that we don’t realize under we are mature adults.
My heart-centered leadership journey started for me as a young girl and I didn’t even realize it. 💜
