When I turned 50 years old I wanted to do something so far out of my comfort zone that it scare me.
I decided to become a certified yoga teacher. It was 18 months, 200 hours and many weekends away from my family, friends and doing things that I love.
I chose to make a commitment to myself.
I chose to do something that would allow me to face my fear and do it anyway.
I had told myself that I was not athletic enough.
I convinced myself that I needed some sports agility.
I did everything I could to talk myself out of doing the certification.
Then I had the courage to contact the yoga teacher and ask.
I was welcomed to the certification with open arms and from the first class I knew that I was exactly where I should be.
Yoga is for everyone.
My best discovery in becoming a yoga teacher was that when I mastered the art of silence — I could hear.
The definition of yoga is ’science of the mind’. How’s ironic. Namaste. 💙
